Kids' inquisitive minds and quick learning abilities very often surprise - and sometimes shock - mums and dads.

Since September 2003, TechnoKids, a Tokyo-based information technology (IT) training company run by Canadian Shelley BEARSE, has been offering a unique computer curriculum package designed to offer a fun way for children to learn about technology, increase their computer literacy, and enable them to practice their English at the same time.

Classes have begun in Minami Aoyama!

* TechnoKids courses are 12 classes long and span 3 months
* All classes are 60 minutes
* An one-off administration fee of 5,000 Yen is charged

All courses, young and old, include an introduction to the PC and Basic Windows Operations

Courses that are being taught are:

TechnoGallery

Kids create their own personal art gallery, by creating four pieces of art that
will then be "hung" or displayed in an electronic art gallery, which can then
be viewed on the computer.

TechnoWebpage
Kids go on a fantastic journey of the World Wide Web. They learn how the web works and how to access information. They learn to 'surf' safely and create their own web page.

Classes are available on Saturday mornings
Suggested age group is 7-10 years old

Saturday mornings - Native English speakers
09:30 - 10:30
11:00 - 12:00

Saturday afternoons - Japanese speakers (Lessons are done in English with Japanese translation - only when necessary!)
13:00 - 14:00
14:30 - 15:30

Wednesday afternoons - Japanese and English speakers
16:00 - 17:00 (time can be adjusted)

Friday afternoons - Japanese and English speakers
16:00 - 17:00
